We invite you to take a look at one of our recent events that is now in the running for Small Event of The Year.
The island can be hired exclusively for a private event that your guests will remember for a very long time. The island has a number of different areas which can be used by your group for the entire evening.
Battery Lawn
Situated on the eastern side of the island with views to South Head, the Battery Lawn is a perfectly manicured stretch of lush grass atop the fort, which is a fantastic spot for canapés, pre-dinner drinks and cocktails. Featuring 360 degree views it is the perfect spot for guests to take in the amazing views of Sydney. It is also an ideal spot for a wedding ceremony, with the magnificent, harbour and city as a backdrop for thos special photos.
Marquee
The site of Fort Denison’s restaurant, the stylish clear marquee on the western side of the fort offers every wedding guest the same uninterrupted view of the city lights and Sydney Harbour Bridge. The roof of the marquee is also clear so guests will be dining under the stars and the stunning Martello Tower which is beautifully lit each night. The marquee provides space for 200 guests for cocktails or dinner, and 170 guests sit down with a dance floor and band set-up.
Forecourt
Joining the marquee with the wharf is Fort Denison’s Forecourt, a space ideal for champagne and canapés on arrival, or as a chillout lounge area away from the marquee when decorated with stylish furniture. The space to the south of the wharf also offers bench seats for guests to take in the view. The Forecourt is the only designated smoking area on the island.
Wharf
To ensure guests receive the warmest welcome (especially those in stilettos), the Fort Denison wharf can be dressed with a stylish red or black carpet.
Powder Rooms
The island's Powder Rooms can be transformed to carry through any event theme. The bathroom can be styled with features including 100% cotton hand towels, luxurious hand wash, candles and flowers.
Pre-event cruises
Cruises for up to one hour around Sydney harbour can be organised prior to arriving on the island, the perfect way for your international guests to get a taste of the habour before they arrive to their private island for the evening.
Management services
As the exclusive caterer to the island, Tailored Events can take care of all elements of a dream event, from initial site inspection and menu tasting through to coordinating the special day itself.
The team works closely with some of Sydney’s most talented event designers, and can organise everything from flowers, candles and fairy lights to AV production, staging and entertainment – even fireworks.
Tailored Events will manage all the water transport on your behalf. Return transfers for guests are available from selected harbour wharfs around Sydney.
Our catering arm, TE Catering, can deliver a stunning menu and beverage selection for a wedding reception, all prepared within the island’s own restaurant kitchen. Our talented team of fully trained staff includes waitstaff, barstaff, chefs and baristas.
